Denise Garner has spent over 30 years in Arkansas serving residents of District 84 and the surrounding communities. She started her career as an Oncology Nurse Practitioner and is a small business owner and partner in several Fayetteville restaurants, including the Farmer’s Table, Brick House Kitchen, and Noodles. She is also an owner of rental property throughout Washington County.

She has been involved in the local and regional community with roles in several nonprofits such as Feed Fayetteville, an organization she helped found to promote access to healthy foods and nutritional education and LifeStyles, an organization providing opportunities to individuals with disabilities to participate and contribute to their community. She served as board member for Fayetteville Public Education Foundation, UAMS Rockefeller Cancer Institute, UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute, and is currently the current chair of the Washington Regional Medical Center Foundation.

Denise is a progressive running against a tea party incumbent who supports has written legislation to favor corporations and please gun lobbyists. Denise is a progressive candidate who is running a grassroots campaign for working class people. She supports tax relief for working families, unlike her opponent who wants to put taxes on groceries and give huge corporations a tax break. Denise has walked, protested, rallied, and championed for underrepresented and historically disenfranchised populations. She will focus on finding common ground based on core values and wants that elected representatives be held accountable by the people.
