Heather Buch is a progressive small business owner, community leader, and affordable housing advocate running for Lane County Commissioner in a competitive district in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. If elected, she would be the only woman to serve on the Commission.

As the daughter of a single, working mother growing up in rural Lane County, Heather learned firsthand the effects of unstable housing on families and communities. After several years in retirement planning, these foundational experiences led her to launch her own small business dedicated to affordable housing, growing to a staff of 18, and managing multimillion dollar projects and assets. She has since dedicated her career to continued innovation in improving housing access for families across the state.

As the special projects director of St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, Heather developed and launched the agency’s creation of a new affordable housing initiative to rehabilitate mobile home parks - an innovative solution in this predominantly rural district that has since become an effective model for local government agencies across the state.

As Lane County Commissioner, Heather will be a leader on sustainable infrastructure, on protecting Oregon’s incomparable natural heritage and wilderness spaces, and on ensuring affordable, quality health care for all Oregonians. She’ll work to make sure Oregon’s families can afford safe housing, to invest in good, local jobs, and to build a local economy for everyone, not just the wealthy few.
