Karl-Thomas Musselman was born and raised in Fredericksburg, TX and became active in politics as part of the aftermath of Bush v. Gore. He was elected the youngest delegate from Texas to the Democratic National Convention in 2004 and became active in the University Democrats and Student Government at the University of Texas. In that time, Karl-Thomas also became involved with the Burnt Orange Report, a blog he would serve as writer, editor, and publisher of for the next decade, winning nine “Best of Austin Awards” from the Austin Chronicle for hard-hitting reporting and holding those in power accountable.

For the last 15 years, Karl-Thomas has put those values to work as a progressive organizer for candidates and causes in Central Texas and across the country. He knows the difference that having quality public servants makes and how important it is that we continue to work to make the lives of our constituents easier.

Karl-Thomas notes that Williamson County has had a reputation as a place where the rules don’t apply and folks aren’t given a fair shake by the justice system. He believes all politics start at home, and there’s nothing closer to home than Justice of the Peace Courts. These are the people’s courts and they must be accessible, accountable, and fair. Getting justice shouldn’t depend on where you live or if you can afford a high dollar attorney. Karl-Thomas is running to bring a new kind of justice to Williamson County. The courts must be innovative, modern, and using the latest technology and best practices to make both court and clerk functions easier and more efficient. Karl-Thomas also believes the courts must be equitable and fair, especially when working with our more vulnerable community members.
