Brian Farkas

State Representative, District 9

Follow Brian:

Brian Farkas works in an architecture firm, founded right here in Pitt County, that works with businesses, local and state governments, and educational organizations to build stronger communities across Eastern North Carolina through responsible building design. He’s helped small towns and community colleges craft master plans to guide their long-term goals and built meaningful relationships with people from all walks of life.

Prior to joining JKF Architecture, Farkas worked for the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, where he specialized in emergency management measures to safeguard the lives and prized research of over 1,000 people. He has also worked for the United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina.

Brian is increasingly concerned with the direction hat NC is heading. Pitt County lacks of a clear champion in the state capital and meaningful policies that help Eastern North Carolina are few and far between. It is clear that the current way of doing business in Raleigh is broken. These days, the greatest victories for North Carolinians occur when bad ideas do not make it into law. The only way to protect the integrity of government, stop the erosion of support for public education, and create broad-based economic prosperity is with change. Brian knows that we have to work problems as a team. He knows how to lead people from different backgrounds - listening to their rationale, finding the common threads that bind them, and building consensus in service of a greater goal.
